One World

Our shared experiences of culture, society, and community networked across the entire planet

One Health

The essential link between human, animal, and crop health and the threat disruption poses to people, their food supplies and associated economies.

Many Initiatives

A source of information and assistance for agricultural capacity support; a capability that is drawn on in time of need; a holistic approach to infrastructure support.

The Global Resource Initiative (TGRI) is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization seeking to improve the productivity and livelihoods of people in the developing world through access to information, expertise and technology.

Agricultural resources and animals, specifically, are the base of many developing and underdeveloped region’s economies and the life-blood of families, cultures and communities. Poor farmers can benefit when information and knowledge is shared locally. They also benefit when given access to global expertise on agriculture and animal health. TGRI is focused on helping to make these connections locally and globally.

Assessing the Needs
Each region and community on the planet is unique. So are their resource issues and needs. Solutions almost never work well when applied as, “one-size-fits-all.” TGRI is committed to careful consideration of the unique resource situation and needs of each region and community where we are active. Lasting, helpful solutions can only come after listening to the voice of the people we would aim to serve and incorporating the experiences of organizations present and active in the region.

Sharing Information Locally
Sharing information and expertise locally and regionally empowers farmers and communities to help themselves. Knowledge of market prices, proven crop cultivation practices, and better livestock husbandry improve production and profitability. TGRI is committed to helping to find highly intelligent yet low technological solutions to facilitate sharing and exchange of agricultural resource information at the local and regional levels.

Accessing Global Expertise
Intelligent use of innovative, but low technology solutions can bring the world’s leading experts to people and communities in developing regions of the planet. TGRI is partnering with leading academic institutions to bring together farmers in need with global experts for consultation and training. Regional academic institutions can also provide a link between the local and global communities and build regional expertise.

Sustainable Improvements
Solutions that will not be sustainable in the long-term waste time, precious resources, and disenfranchise people. TGRI is committed to proposing and implementing strategic solutions that improve the productivity and livelihoods of people in the developing world now, and into the future.
